The Reds sit close to the top of the table, and as I keep noting, have now gone to Man City, Spurs, Newcastle, Chelsea and Brighton. No major clubs have had the Anfield experience yet, albeit ‘European’ sides Aston Villa and West Ham have (and lost).
The Reds have played almost all of the top 12, obviously excluding themselves.
Meanwhile, Man City, Spurs and Arsenal rank 1st, 2nd and 3rd for easiest games played, based on opponents’ points per game this season, by some margin from Liverpool. Those teams 13 games have been against teams averaging barely over a point per game; Liverpool's average – 1.47ppg, which is close to the highest.
It's worth sharing the latest Ratings Performance Index table, to make that clear, albeit Spurs and Villa have yet to play at the time of publication.
(And remember, any xG league tables would be distorted by Liverpool’s near two full games with less than eleven players, and the difficulty of the fixtures.)
But there are many reasons that we've not yet seen the best of this Liverpool team; there's a lot more that I can show is still to come.
